A thousand apples a day will keep the doctor away...

A friend posted on facebook about a farm in Bosque Farms that was in need of getting their apples picked before the first big frost of the year. So we went first thing Saturday morning and picked until our buckets were full! We were the first people there and I guess a lot of people got the same message because by the afternoon instead of giving the apples away they were charging them... So we spent all day Saturday drying, caning, baking everything apples! Apple pie, applesauce, apple butter, dried apples... And we all ate about 4 apples a piece too!

The boys heading off!
Daddy helping the dinosaur pick!

All of us loved it! We had an apple throwing contest and laughed about all the things you could do with apples. We loved it and made a great memory for our family! Plus we will have homemade apple pie for thanksgiving... In fact I have 5 pies in my new freezer right now! Oh did you know I got a freezer for Christmas? Like a nice stand up one?! LOVE IT! Hello freezer meals!

1 month Zane

Zane turned a month old the day before Halloween and here are a few pictures. He just turned 6 weeks old this past Sunday and is still in newborn diapers! However, his 0-3 month clothes will not fit him much longer because he is so long. He is a pretty sweet baby! He struggles a lot with gas. :/ He loves to hold onto my fingers and I LOVE IT TOO! He is definitely a snuggle bunny and loves to sleep right next to mommy or in daddys arms. He is becoming more aware and smiles a lot (not on cue but just those sweet baby smiles). The older boys have been absolutely FANTASTIC with him. I think we are all being pretty patient with this new adjustment. I am doing fabulous. A friend said to me the other day, boy you sure bounce back quickly and I tried to explain that its because I am so sick pregnant that when I am not pregnant I feel SO FANTASTIC! I have been to the gym almost everyday this last week which is good because my body shape has sure changed. I am down to my pre-Zane weight (and was back to that 2 weeks after birth, however I am very overweight so that doesn't count for much... And I only gained about 13 pounds in the pregnancy) but my weight has shifted to my hips and butt. Things could be changing here in the Carter house in the next few months. I have no details to share yet but things will definitely be changing and some could be BIG changes for us. I am not sure how I feel about it all but putting your faith in God helps. Anyway... Here are a few pictures of Zane

Halloween

Hinckleys school had a Halloween parade

Hinckley is in orange

He is VECTOR from Despicable Me!

Love this sweet boy!

He was asked to dance in front of the school. He was SO EXCITED!

More dancing!

His teacher with pink hair!

As I was sitting there taking pictures this lady walked up to me and said, " I love Hinckley so much" I kind of gave her a funny look because I knew she didn't work at the school. She then told me, "I went on the field trip a few weeks ago and he was in my group, and he is such a polite young man. He made me laugh and I loved hearing what he had to say, he is super special." My little mother heart BURST! I just love this little boy... Who might I add is growing up way to fast...

Hinckley had karate on Halloween but as soon as we got home we ate some dinner and got dressed again. I bought glow sticks at the dollar store for the kids and us to wear and I am SO GLAD WE DID! Its so dark outside...

VECTOR....
Yes Chandler insists on having his helmet backwards

We had a lot of fun walking around our neighborhood. One thing that surprised me was how many people smoke... and even smoke in their home! Sorry but I think its disgusting. The kids had so much candy and so we decided to let the candy ghost come and take it away. Don't worry the candy ghost left a little gift instead so we weren't completely mean parents. Chandler goes crazy for candy and even if I have it hidden on the highest shelf in the kitchen behind 3 things he will find it. Plus I think we would have candy still in a year for next Halloween!
